Age Limit
  • Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1999 are eligible to apply for UG Engineering admission 2021. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
  • Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.

Candidates applying for the UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2021, in any one of the following qualifying examinations :


  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for Under graduate Engineering programmes . They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining.
  • They should also provide the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Total (including all subjects) and upload the scanned copy of the mark list and other relevant documents whenever available on the application form.

  • For Indian nationals/ NRI/ PIO card holder, appearance in VITEEE-21 is mandatory to be eligible for B. Tech. admission under regular mode (Applicants under International/NRI quota exempted) . In case VITEEE gets cancelled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-21 or a valid SAT. Applicants will be informed with specifics in such case.

  • Candidates applying for the Under-graduate Engineering admission should have secured minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be minimum aggregate of 50% for the following categories:
    • Candidates belonging to SC/ST
    • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.

    • Candidates having (Maths,Physics,Chemistry)in +2 or Higher Secondary Board are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.
    • Candidates who have (Biology / Physics / Chemistry) in +2/ Higher Secondary Board are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. But after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

  • Selection is based on the rank secured through Computer Based Test / Qualifying exam mark.
  • Selected candidates will be called for online / onsite counselling based their ranking.

  • After payment of full fees classes will be conducted online / reporting in person to the Institution.

  • A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with 65% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).

  • For Integrated M.Tech. Programmes The aggregate marks obtained in the subjects in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 55% in PCM for the following categories:
    • The Qualifying Marks is relaxed by 10% i.e. 55% in PCM for applicants belong to SC/ST and applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura.
    • Applicants belonging to SC/ST category should submit community certificate
    • Applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. They should submit Nativity Certificate

M.Tech – VLSI Design (2 years programme)

 

In the post-graduation programme M.Tech VLSI Design, students are allowed to pursue the course from schools of Electronics Engineering, VIT-AP. The post-graduates of VLSI Design will demonstrate their outstanding education skills that will enable them to integrate undergraduate fundamentals with the knowledge acquired to evaluate and analyse new developments in VLSI industry. The entry into these programmes occurs by successfully getting through the VITMEE examination conducted every year.

 

  • Nationality
    The applicant for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have graduated from Institutions located in India.
  • Foreign and NRI/ PIO applications are to be made separately. Please visit the International Relations tab in VIT website

  • Candidates should have graduated with a full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or First class for M.Tech. degree programmes.
  • Candidates appearing for their final degree exam / final semester exam in the current year are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates should have completed their final Semester/year exams before the selection counselling at VIT
  • The candidates should produce statement of final year marks and Provisional degree certificate before August 15th, 2021, failing which admission will be cancelled with the forfeit of admission fee
  • Candidates should have graduated ( B.E / B.Tech / M.S /M.Sc Degree in any of the following specializations – Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Communications Engineering or any other equivalent degree ) with a full-time degree from any recognized University/Institute with a minimum aggregate of 60% or First class for M.Tech. degree programmes.

Ph.D.


The Ph.D. programme at VIT-AP admits bright students to carry out research in engineering, basic sciences, humanities and management disciplines. The major areas of research are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Management – HR, Marketing, Economics, English etc.

 

  • Internal Full Time:
    A candidate who wishes to work for Ph.D. / Integrated Ph.D. degree on full time basis (including project staff working in sponsored projects being carried out at VIT) should apply in the prescribed form on or before the specified date.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION For Ph.D. in Engineering:
  • (10+2+4+2 or any equivalent for Ph.D. in Engineering )
    (10+2+3+2 or any equivalent for Ph.D. in Non-Engineering )
    (10+2+5 year Integrated M.Tech. programme, Integrated M.S Programme in Engg. & Integrated. M.Sc. (Biotech) in Non-Engg.)
  • For Ph.D. in Engineering:
    Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (of all the years /semesters) wherever marks are awarded / CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where letter grades are awarded or Equivalent qualifications like M.Sc. (Engineering) / M.S. [By Research] / M.Tech. [By Research].
    For all the Research Programmes, it is mandatory that the candidate should have studied in regular, full time and formal education in their previous degree programmes (UG and PG).
    M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. (IT), MCA degree holders are not eligible to apply for Ph.D. Programme.
  • For Integrated Ph.D. in Engineering / Technology:
    Bachelor’s Students with outstanding academic record in the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology with an aptitude towards advanced scientific and technological research are eligible to apply. A minimum of 80% marks or a CGPA of 8.5 is mandatory on a 10 point scale.
  • For Ph.D. in Sciences :
    Master’s degree in the relevant discipline of Science with a minimum of 60% marks / CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale.
  • For Ph.D. in Languages:
