Our 2-year Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Data Science (in collaboration with LatentView Analytics) is an advanced degree programme designed to provide specialized training in analytical and computational Statistics that finds its applications everywhere ranging from healthcare, banking, to governance.
Our programme is designed to go beyond traditional teaching methodologies from teaching students to acquire fundamental knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and computer science to instill the interest to get introduced to the cutting-edge state of the art data science technologies and gain hands-on experience via active learning through lab embedded courses and mini-projects, Capstone Project, and Internship.
The course aims to help students develop statistical programming skills with a career prospect in the corporate. The two years M.Sc. As a data science enthusiast, linear algebra and statistics have been the founding pillars of Artificial Intelligence. When I began my journey with statistics in 2nd year in VIT AP, I started working with various state of the art R tools on different open source datasets like boston house datasets and many more. The course not only involves in-depth theoretical knowledge into various stats tests of population like Z and t but also heavy emphasis on practical and project based learning which is a great starting point into data science. After the Statistics course I was not only well versed with a new coding language (R), but also had a strong mathematical and statistical background in data science. It not only helped me in learning but also came in very handy during my interview process.

|Answer: Data Science is a multi- disciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms to produce knowledge & insights from structured & unstructured data. It utilises techniques & theories derived from many fields such as computer science, mathematics, statistics & information science to process and analyse large amount of data, and to present the results to reveal patterns and enable stakeholders to draw informed conclusions.|
