National Academic Depository (NAD)

The inception of the National Academic Depository (NAD) stems from the endeavor to establish a digital repository for academic accolades. NAD operates as a round-the-clock online repository containing digitized versions of various academic awards, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, and mark sheets. These documents are submitted by academic institutions, boards, and eligibility assessment bodies. NAD not only facilitates convenient retrieval of academic awards but also verifies and ensures their authenticity while providing secure storage.

In accordance with the directive issued by the Ministry of Education, DigiLocker has been designated as the exclusive repository for the National Academic Depository (NAD). Academic institutions are urged to enroll in NAD exclusively through DigiLocker. Those academic institutions that have previously deposited their academic data with the former depositories, namely NDML or CVL, are now advised to communicate via email with these entities to initiate the transfer of data in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
