VIT-AP & AKS IAS Academy sign MoU for UPSC Training

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VIT-AP University and AKS IAS Academy was held at VIT-AP University on Friday, 16th April, 2021.

Dr. S V Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT–AP University after signing the MoU with AKS IAS Academy said that “this collaboration of VIT-AP and AKS IAS Academy will be beneficial to students who are looking for a career based graduation programme from us. Along with the Dual Degree of BA & MA in Public Services students will be trained for IAS preparation, so that they are ready for the civil services and allied positions by the time they graduate from VIT-AP.” He also emphasized on the need of building a pool of bureaucrats who can lead the nation in the coming years, as the thought behind beginning the Programme of Dual Degree with integrated IAS training. Enthusiastic students now need not travel far for the best IAS training, as VIT-AP in collaboration with AKS IAS academy will offer the best training for one to excel in the Administrative field.

Ph.D. – Law

Ph.D. Programme

 

Overview:

The Ph.D. programme at VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) is designed to prepare the graduates for careers as legal scholars and teachers through a doctoral programme aimed at the production of a substantial body of academic research and writing under the close supervision of expert faculty members.

This programme offers emerging scholars an opportunity to contribute to the development of law as an academic field, and it provides an alternate pathway into law teaching alongside existing routes such as fellowships, advanced degrees in cognate fields and legal practice.

 

Duration and stipend:

Ph.D. degree in law is a full time three years Programme. Selected candidates for Ph.D. programme will get monthly stipend.

 

Eligibility:

Candidates who have obtained a Master’s degree in law from ay recognized university or Autonomous institution securing not less than 55% marks are eligible to apply.

 

Procedure for admission:

  • In order to obtain admission, candidates have to appear for VIT Research Admission Test. Later they have to attend for the interview.
  • Applicants who have cleared UGC-NET (including JRF) are exempted from writing the entrance exam. However, they have to defend their research proposal in the interview.
  • Ph.D. admission will take place twice a year. January Cycle as well as June Cycle.
    Candidates who are passionate in academia and research they are encouraged to take admission.

VSL – 5 years integrated BBA., LL.B.(Hons.)

 

Overview:

VIT-AP offers a 5-year integrated Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (BBA.,LL.B (Hons)) is a dual degree programme inculcating sound principles of business administration and law preparing a student to excel in corporate field nationally and internationally. Meticulously curated pedagogy and innovative techniques not only enable a student to survive in the competitive world but also overcome the challenges with innovative methods trained during the course.

 

Course Structure:

The Course comprises of mandatory courses, extensive spread of programme electives and honours courses where a student can freely select an area of interest and explore the contemporary developments and challenges. With technologically equipped infrastructure innovative learning methods are better delivered to students. Pedagogy and mode of teaching includes technologically imbibed lectures, case-study analysis and enacting of landmark judgments, moot court training, projects, interactive learning and various programmes. With world-class library and resources in the campus students can enrich their knowledge and core principles of law. A multidisciplinary interaction in campus through various clubs and events provides student to develop life-skills. A student is encouraged to choose credit based foreign language courses like French, Spanish, German, Japanese along with English which would train and equip to set a strong foot abroad.

 

Infrastructure:

With active collaborations students are prepared to actively participate in mooting competitions, debates, legal-aid clinics and extra-curricular activities. In addition to classroom instruction and discussions, students are given excellent training in drafting, argument analysis and proficient presentation. Students can make use of the state-of-the-art infrastructure, library, moot court hall, seminar halls to get enriching education.

 

 

Eligibility and Admission:

  • • A candidate should have passed Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) from any recognized board in India or overseas. Student who have appeared for the Higher Secondary Examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply subject to submission of passing certificate by the announced date.

VSL – 5 years integrated B.A., LL.B.(Hons.)

 

Overview:

VIT-AP offers a 5-year integrated Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws (BA.LLB (Hons)) Programme which is a combination of law and arts subjects. A sound understanding of subjects like political science, economics etc. with sufficient grounding in the fundamental branches of law gives the student a well-rounded education and prepares them to be the best in their field.

 

Course Structure:

The programme has a total of 60 subjects which comprise mandatory core subjects, University electives, optional courses and seminar courses. The method of teaching involves lectures, discussions, case-study analysis, mooting, field study and projects. Teaching this programme is so designed that classroom interaction and discussions is encouraged and for that, the course outline, reading material, syllabus and relevant Court judgements are all shared with students. Students will be expected to come prepared to classes. Simulation activities, workshops and presentations are conducted to encourage student participation and deliberative dialogue to inculcate critical thinking, inter-disciplinary exploration, strict scrutiny of the established principles and discussion on underlying themes.
