VIT-AP University inks MoU with State University of New York (SUNY)

VIT-AP University, Amaravati entered in to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the data Science program with the State University of New York (SUNY), Binghamton, USA on February 8th 2023. The B.Sc.-M.Sc. dual-degree program and M.Sc. in Data Science is conducted by the School of Advanced Sciences, at VIT-AP University, and the MoU will facilitate various academic pathways for VIT-AP students to the System Science program at SUNY, Binghamton.

VIT-AP School of Law signs MoU with Birmingham University

VIT-AP School of Law signed MoU with the Prestigious Birmingham University. This MoU will facilitate the students exchange program which includes semester or year abroad program, Faculty exchange Program between the institutions. The MoU will also give an opportunity to the Students of VSL to apply for LL.M pathway with reduced fee and scholarships. Furthermore, research and collaborations will be carried out within the scope of the MoU. VIT-AP School of Law is the first law school in the State of Andhra Pradesh and Teleangan having signed MoU with QS 100 rank universities.

VIT-AP & AKS IAS Academy sign MoU for UPSC Training

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between VIT-AP University and AKS IAS Academy was held at VIT-AP University on Friday, 16th April, 2021.

Dr. S V Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT–AP University after signing the MoU with AKS IAS Academy said that “this collaboration of VIT-AP and AKS IAS Academy will be beneficial to students who are looking for a career based graduation programme from us. Along with the Dual Degree of BA & MA in Public Services students will be trained for IAS preparation, so that they are ready for the civil services and allied positions by the time they graduate from VIT-AP.” He also emphasized on the need of building a pool of bureaucrats who can lead the nation in the coming years, as the thought behind beginning the Programme of Dual Degree with integrated IAS training. Enthusiastic students now need not travel far for the best IAS training, as VIT-AP in collaboration with AKS IAS academy will offer the best training for one to excel in the Administrative field.

VIT-AP inks Academic & Research MoU with CSIR-IICT

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the School of Advanced Sciences, VIT-AP University and CSIR-IICT was held at IICT, Hyderabad on the Saturday of 10th April 2021.

Dr. S V Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, VIT–AP University after signing the MoU with CSIR- IICT, said that this collaboration will help faculty and students to get an opportunity to conduct research in advanced thrust areas in science and technology. This collaboration can bring forth project proposals in areas of mutual interest of faculty and students can be submitted to various Agencies / Industries for funding. The expertise and technical support that this collaboration brings would lead into conducting Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), National, International Conferences / Seminars / Symposium / Workshops etc. VIT-AP along with IICT, Hyderabad look forward to working on areas that would be beneficial to academia which in turn would reflect on the society we live in.

Dr. S. Chandrasekhar, Director CSIR-IICT said that signing an MoU with VIT-AP will encourage more young men and women to take part in research as we guide/ jointly guide the M.Sc. and Ph.D. students for their project / dissertation / internship/ CO-OP/ Senior Design Project and the like. This pact will assist us to conduct societal relevant scientific programmes jointly. IICT can share knowledge by guest lectures on the courses under curriculum and also collaborate in areas like exchange of scientists, faculty & students, projects and to apply for bilateral programmes on areas of expertise as mentioned above, as per the norms of respective institutes.

VIT-AP School of Law signs MoU with CHSS

Signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University and Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS) was held at VIT-AP School of Law, VIT-AP University on 09 February 2021.  Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao IPS, Director General of Police (Railways) (Andhra Pradesh Cadre) graced the occasion and witnessed the ceremony as a Chief Guest.

 

Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, the Chief Guest said that “9 February 2021 marks an important day in the history of the VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University and for the Centre for Human Security Studies (CHSS) by entering into MoU to work committedly for the cause national security. I am sure both the organizations would share the common values and common ideas to protect the nations from various security threats. Threats ranging from cyber security, health security, costal security and mostly internal security to be addressed and dealt with clear policy and legal aspects. Without having clear policy and legal guidelines it is difficult for the forces to deal and provide protection to the people of this country. The VIT-AP University and CHSS should bear in mind that these challenges have to be addressed in clear and focused manner. VIT-AP University is one of premier institutions in this country guides and provides inputs to the policy and law makers in dealing with the various challenges which are posed by the growing security threat. The CHSS is having almost 10 years of experience in dealing and organizing various activities to create awareness among the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with regard to prevailing and growing security threats.” It is the need of our, educational institutions like VIT-AP should come forward to work with the governments and be in the think tank to disseminate and create awareness about the security challenges.

 

Dr. S. V. Kota Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of VIT-AP University, in his address highlighted the university’s contribution for the empowerment and promotion of the education and advised the law students and faculty to work towards the betterment of the society. He highlighted that the University is committed to create a Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security and Law. This center will work holistically to provide better solutions to the society and he has informed the importance of the center and its scope.

Placement Achievements

VIT-AP witnesses the very first batch of students scale heights in Placements. Currently 253 students have been successfully placed, and as the days grow so does the number.

With many more companies ready to offer placements, the opportunities of placements are witnessing a steady increase. Around 175 of our students have even secured multiple offers. The Placement team has been actively working towards placements of all the students.

Placements during the pandemic that hit 2020 did not hinder the placements since VIT-AP has seen a steady inflow of companies come in through the extended season, and it still continues. As of now, we have the highest placement offer of 20 lakhs per annum, showcasing how the super dream and dream offers have proved the mettle of our students. VIT-APUniversity STARS Programme 4th Batch Inaugural

Dr. Sekar Viswanathan inaugurated 4th Batch of STARS Programme and issued free laptops to STAR students on Thursday at VIT AP University, Amaravati.

STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) aims to provide opportunities to underprivileged rural students to pursue quality higher education. The scheme is implemented in thirteen Districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Through this scheme, since the academic year 2017-18 , one male and one female students from Government Junior Colleges located in the rural areas in each district is selected and offered complete Free Education inclusive of Hostel Facilities to pursue their education at VIT -AP. Hence every year, 26 students from 13 districts are benefited under the exclusive VIT-AP STARS scheme.

Dr.Sekar Viswanathan, Vice president VIT AP University in his address drew emphasis on hard work and exhorted the students to focus on their education to be the firsts in their chosen areas. By utilising the opportunities on campus, one can learn foreign languages like French, Spanish andGerman. He also encouraged the students to utilize these opportunities by active participation in clubs and chapters to make best their careers and live a balanced life. It is the quality of education, the presence of good faculty, the right ambience and eco system that enables students to unleash their creativity and genius and VIT AP has an impressive record on this score. He reiterated the Kothari Commission statement that “The destiny of the country is shaped in the classrooms”

Dr. S.V.Kota Reddy, Vice chancellor, VIT AP University said that STARS (Support The Advancement of Rural Students) aims to provide opportunities to under privileged rural students to pursue quality higher education.He firmly believes that Education is for emancipation, enlightenment, empowerment, employment and empathy. He stressed on four pillars of learning as enunciated in 1996 UNESCO commission on education Learning to know (Knowledge), Learning to do(Skills), Learning to be (Personality), Learning to live together (understanding, appreciation of independence).

Dr.C.L.V Sivakumar , Registrar, VIT-AP spoke about the legacy of the STAR scheme and its impact on rural education . He mentioned that we believe in creating an atmosphere which encourages innovation, generates new ideas and nurtures the talent of the young minds . He drew attention to novel concepts in teaching learning like Engineering Clinics and encouraged students to actively participate and benefit from this learning environment.

VIT-AP University Conducts International Conference on Applications of Fluid Dynamics (ICAFD)

The Amaravati-based VIT AP University, recently held a three-day online International Conference on Applications of Fluid Dynamics. This ICAFD-2020 meeting was the fifth in a series of International Conferences that aimed to establish a leading international forum that brings together Scientist, Engineers and Industrial experts to present the latest advances and inventions in the fields of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics and explore path-breaking advancements and problems in order to choose alternative paths.

ICAFD 2020 invited resource persons from countries such as USA, Australia, UAE, Singapore and South Africa and from reputed Universities such as IIT, NIT, VIT and Central University from India. The conference was the result of a long collaborative effort between the School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT-AP University and the Department of Mechanical Engineering Science, University of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Out of the total 175 participants, 100 presented their research papers among which 25 were from the USA, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, West Indies, Australia and the rest of the papers were from different states of India which included IIT’s, NIT’s, Central Universities, etc.
