Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. Edappadi K. Palaniswami presented the award for Excellence to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) during the Think Edu conclave conducted by The New Indian Express held at Chennai. VIT Vice President Mr G.V.Selvam received the award on behalf of VIT. The award was presented in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani.
VIT won FICCI-2019 Award for “Excellence in Enabling Research Environment”. The award was received by Our Vice Presidents Mr. Sankar Viswanathan and Dr. Sekar Viswanathan from Hon’ble Minister Shri. Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways of India and Shipping Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Government of India, on 28th Nov 2019 in New Delhi.
NASSCOM as part of the Futureskills initiative along with IBM had organised a National Online Hackathon – Crack the Covid-19 Crisis. The Hackathon kick-started on 25th April, 2020 where in NASSCOM invited STEM students across India to participate and build practical and effective solutions using technologies such as Cloud, Data & Artificial Intelligence. The objective of this hackathon was to look for innovative solutions to solve India’s biggest challenge in the present construct, the national socio-economic crisis caused by COVID- 19 pandemic.
Of the 26,478 registrations, from more than 500 Institutes across 26 States and Union Territories participated in the Hackathon.
Evaluation is in progress and 16 top submissions are short-listed. Out of the 16 teams 5 Teams are students of various campuses of VIT. The final round of evaluation is in “Shark Tank” style (based on popular TV series – Shark Tank) whereby team will pitch idea, solution to a panel of investors (Sharks) and persuade them to invest in their idea. Four students of VIT-AP university of the team “_init_iators” have made their place to compete in the finals. The Final Results will be declared on 8th of June, 2020.
VIT-AP University Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan signed an agreement with Arizona State University (ASU) on 28th June 2019 for an International Credit Transfer Program. Dr Raghu Santhanam, Chair Department of Information Systems and Dr Kay Farris, Senior Associate Dean, Academic Programs, W. P. Carey School of Business signed on behalf of Arizona State University.
Students opting for this will get two degrees – BBA Business Analytics from VIT-AP University and BS Business Analytics from Arizona State University.

The VIT-AP School of Business (VSB) exchanged an MoU for 2+2 BBA program in the presence of Chancellor Daniel Little, University of Michigan-Dearborn (UMD), Chancellor G. Viswanathan, VIT-AP, and Dean Mr. Raju Balakrishnan, College of Business, UM-Dearborn. The exchange happened at UMD-Campus, Detroit, Michigan, USA on June 21st 2018.
This is in continuation of the collaborative Education Agreement signed and exchanged on 1st May 2018 between the two chancellors and the Letter of Intent signed between Dr. Raju Balakrishnan, Dean, College of Business, UMD and Dr. S. Jeyavelu, Dean VSB, VIT – AP on 19th March, 2018 and exchanged in the presence of the Hon’ble CM. of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
Students joining BBA at VIT-AP School of Business will have the following option of getting the BBA from VSB after completing three years of study in India or get BBA from UMD, USA after completing 2 years of study in VSB, India and 2 years of study in UMD.

Department of CSE, VIT-AP received GPU research grant from NVIDIA Corporation, Austin. This lab will help in enriching new research in various domains such as Deep learning, Malware analysis, Network analysis etc., using GPU, Parallel Programming, High Performance Computing and CUDA. The lab contains state-of-the art resources including Geforce Titan XP GPU unit. Interested students/ Researchers can take advantages of this lab for their research/projects.

We proudly congratulate our students N. Mahesh and K. Avinash from 2nd year B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering, who have qualified in CSWA certification test held on 25th August, 2018, Saturday. CSWA (Certified SolidWorks Associate), is a test where students need to demonstrate their expertise in SOLIDWORKS 3D solid modeling software, design concepts, and sustainable design. It is a three hours online test. The CSWA – Academic certification is proof of students’ SOLIDWORKS expertise with cutting-edge skills.
