Dr. Rasheda Parveen has a Ph.D. in English literature from National Institute of Technology Rourkela. Her research articles and book monographs are published by Springer, IIAS journals, IGNOU, Utkal University, ABC-Clio, etc. An Associate of IIAS, Shimla (2019-), Parveen has completed an ICSSR (IMPRESS) funded research project “Restoring the Sacred in Public Spheres” as a Co-PI which investigates lived religion of the transgenders of India.

Dr. Tannistha Dasgupta has a PhD and an M. Phil in English Language Education (ELE) from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad. She has developed content as a subject expert of video programmes of UGC-MHRD sponsored MOOC Courses for SwayamPrabha channel. In 2021, she was nominated by the U.S. Embassy, New Delhi for the E-Teacher Scholarship for the OPEN Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. In 2022, she received English Language Centre Eastbourne Graham Smith Scholarship, awarded by IATEFL, UK. She has published her work in reputed international journals and received grants to present at conferences in India and abroad. She is an editorial board member of Cambridge Scholars Publishing. She has completed an RGEMS project funded by VIT-AP University (Seed-Money Project). She has been invited as a resource person at various FDP and training sessions.

Bio:

Dr. Sudesh Manger has eight years of industry experience at Genpact PVT, and brings a unique perspective to his academic endeavors with diverse background in academia and industry. Holding a Ph.D. in Translation Studies from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) in Hyderabad (2018), his research delved into the intricate challenges of translating distinct concepts of time, “Cyclical Time” and “Linear Time,” in the historiography of Nepal. While his doctoral thesis offered valuable insights, it acknowledged the limitations of addressing the necessity of an eastern theoretical framework for translating historical sources. Prior to his Ph.D., Sudesh completed a Master of Philosophy in Translation Studies in 2012 at EFLU, and a Master’s in English from Osmania University in 2009, establishing a strong academic foundation. His influential research has delved into various aspects of translation, including Nepali translations, the impact of colonialism on translation, and its role in shaping Nepali feminism.

Dr. Renuprasad Patki completed B.A. in German from Sir Parashurambhau College, Pune. He then pursued Masters in German Studies from Savitribai Phule Pune University and went on to pursue PhD in contemporary German Love Poetry from the same university after qualifying for UGC NET with JRF. As a recipient of several scholarships, he went to Germany to collect research material, to attend courses at the prestigious Göttingen university and the Free university of Berlin and to present papers in international conferences related to German studies. Apart from his academic research, he has been active in doing literary translations and writing and publishing poems in German and in Marathi.

Bio:

Prof. Kanaka Himabindu Pottumuthu holds an Integrated Master of Arts degree in Socio-cultural Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad and a Master of Philosophy degree in Anthropology from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H). Her M.A. work was about understanding the Savara tribes in Srikakulam District, Andhra Pradesh, focusing on their economic organization. She has specialized in her M.Phil in Medical Anthropology, studying about the illness experience of cancer patients, which is an ethnographic work. She is about to submit her dissertation for a Doctor of Philosophy about perspectives of day-to-day water management amongst citizens of Hyderabad and also about a smart city in the making, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Her areas of research interest include urban studies, sustainable smart cities and medical anthropology. She is a recipient of the Gold Medal in her M.A. and a holder of the academic excellence award during her M.Phil. She has received a JASSO scholarship and has been to Japan for an exchange program at the University of Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Ghosh completed her PhD from University of Kentucky, Lexington, USA, during which she extensively worked in the Indian Sundarbans region, examining the impacts of biodiversity conservation on local communities. She was a recipient of the Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant, National Science Foundation, USA and Dissertation Research Grant, Association of American Geographers (AAG). After completing her Ph.D., she worked as a lecturer in the Department of Geography at Central Washington University, USA. She was a post-doctoral scholar in the Department of Geography, University of Kentucky, where she investigated rural land use of Fayette County, Kentucky. Dr. Ghosh served as an Educational Advisor at the IEC Kumamoto International College, Kyushu, Japan, and later worked as an Assistant Professor of Geography & Environmental Science at Era University, Lucknow. She has published her research in high-ranking peer-reviewed journals such as GeoJournal, Geographical Review, and Environmental Management. Dr. Amar Ramesh Wayal received his post-graduate course in Applied Research Studies at the University of Lethbridge, Canada, and his M.Phil. and doctorate in Comparative Literature at the Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. Prior to VIT-AP University, he was working with IIM Indore and SRM University, Trichy. He is an ICSSR Scholar, Shastri Indo-Canadian Research Scholar, and Visiting Scholar at the University of Lethbridge, Canada. He has given lectures nationally and internationally and works with tribes and indigenous organisations in Canada and the USA. In recognition of his appointment as a reviewer and editorial member for different international journals, he has reviewed articles in different fields. He has publications in Sage, Springer, Routledge, Vernon Press, and the University of Lethbridge Press, as well as forthcoming in NAIS, AIQ, CJNS, and other reputed journals. Dr. Sanziou Boro received his Doctorate Degree (Department of Translation Studies) from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad in 2016. He also received his post-graduation in English Literature from EFLU, Hyderabad. He graduated with a degree in English Literature (Hons.) from St. Edmund’s College affiliated to NEHU (North Eastern Hill University) Shillong, Meghalaya. Prior to joining VIT-AP, Dr. Sanziou Boro was an Assistant Professor at SRM University Delhi-NCR where he taught for more than 04 years. He was awarded with Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship in the year 2011 and qualified NET with JRF in the year 2013.

“Ashraf Pulikkamath is an interdisciplinary researcher in the broad area of development economics. His research and teaching interests include gender economics, gender budget, public policy, and development disparity.

He holds an MA in Econometrics and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Madras. He has also cleared the UGC NET in Economics and Gender Studies. He is awaiting his Ph.D. Degree award from the University of Madras.

Prior to joining VIT-AP School of Social Sciences & Humanities, he served as an Assistant Professor (Economics) at the Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science Deemed to be University, Chennai and Marian College Kuttikkanam (Autonomous), Idukki. “

Ritu Varghese holds a B.A. Honours and an M.A. degree in English Literature from the University of Rajasthan. She joined NIT Rourkela, Odisha in 2018 for her PhD degree. Her thesis deals with the gendered nuances of modern bhakti historiography with Mirabai, the bhakti saint, at the center. Her areas of interest include English language and literature, religion and theology, Hindu / bhakti studies, modern Indian historiography, and south-Asian feminism.
