Project:Prosthetic Arm

Guide: Prof. Sibi Chakkaravarthy

A robotic arm is a type of mechanical arm, usually programmable, with similar functions to a human arm; the arm may be the sum total of the mechanism or may be part of a more complex robot. The end effector, or robotic hand, can be designed to perform any desired task such as welding, gripping, spinning etc., depending on the application. In some circumstances, close emulation of the human hand is desired, as in robots designed to conduct bomb disarmament and disposal. A typical robotic arm is made up of three metal segments, joined by three joints. The Arduino controls the robot by rotating individual Servo Motors connected to each joint. Unlike ordinary motors, Servo motors move in exact increments. This allows the Arduino to move the arm very precisely, replicating each and every movement of the human arm as is recoded by the Leap Motion Controller..

Project: Cashier less Market

Guide: Prof. M. Kalyan Chakravarthi

This project is inspired on the popular automated market, i.e. Amazon Go. It is basically a book store where one can go in with the help of RFID tag associated with their ID and then they just need to pick the book they want swipe it again over RFID reader, the reader reads the RFID value and sends it to the firebase and the firebase is again connected to an app which tells the user buying that book. The prototype envisions newer shopping experiences. .

Project: Health Glove for Elderly People

Guide: Prof. S. KARTHIKEYAN

The motive of this project is to create a safe environment with cost effective measures for the elder people. This is a simple glove which an elder person can wear all the time. In case of emergency, that is in case they fall down and don’t get up in a certain period of time, a phone call is made to all their relatives nearby and an alarm is turned on outside the house. The same happens with the help of a panic button which they can press voluntarily in case on emergency. We have used an effective algorithm for fall detection and suitable software to make VoIP phone calls.

Project: Authorization using RFID And Face Recognition

Guide: Dr. SUDHA ELISON MATHE

This project is based on RFID and Deep Learning. It is two level security system. Here Face recognition is used as first level security and RFID security lock for second level security. In first level deep learning is used to detect the faces of some authorized persons and give access to them for second level. In second level the authorized persons should use a RFID card provided to them. Once the card gets detected the door open automatically and after certain time the door closes automatically with the buzzer ringing. There can be bit more changes in the algorithm of deep learning for more accuracy.

Project: Accident Avoiding System

Guide: Prof. Deepasikha Mishra

90% of accidents are due to drowsiness. Accident Avoiding System works like a Drowsiness Detection and Alerting System. It performs Face Detection and Eye Localization using OpenCV to Detect if the Driver is Drowsy (Blinking is not Considered). If the System finds the Driver Drowsy then it alerts the Driver using a Buzzer. After Alerting the Driver it also brings the Vehicle to Halt at a Safe Place and it also shares the Vehicle’s Location to a Close Contact using a GPS Module.

Project: Smart Speaker

Guide: Dr. Sudhakar Ilango B

This is a smart speaker, similar to the one made by Amazon which is “Alexa” and the one made by Google which is “Google Home”. The difference between those products and our products is that, in the case of Alexa and Google Home , the speach data which we provide is being sent to the big data companies for their benefits. But in our prototype, we have our own Virtual Assistant built from scratch and has no linkage to any other Virtual Assistants. In our Virtual Assistant we have made sure that, your speach data will be sent in an anonymous way and we give the user their privacy.

Project: Raspberry Pi Solar Street light

Guide: Dr. ANOOP KUMAR MISHRA

This main goal of this project is to implement an auto-intensity control of the LED based street light system that uses solar energy to conserve electrical power on the street light by using raspberry pi board. As the traffic decreases slowly in late night hours, the intensity is reduced progressively till morning to save energy, and thus the street lights remain switched on at the dusk, and then switch off at the dawn automatically the process repeats everyday.

Project: Agro Automation

Guide: Prof. Asish Kumar Dalai

Our project aims to make the day to day working of an average Indian farmer easier. To fulfil this aim, we have a local weather. We have attached a soil quality test module that gives us the current values like soil moisture derived out of the sample. The highlight features of the project include an app controlled mobile vehicle which along with all other sub-modules, carries an app based drip irrigation system. The farmer shall be able to use the product to test the soil moisture and operate drip irrigation and obtain the localised weather forecast on our website.

Project: Home Security Using Raspberry Pi

Guide: Dr.Saroj Kumar Panigrahy

There are many security cameras available in the market for safety and securing the desired place but this project will be budget friendly. In this project we want to implement an advanced security system to house with the help of Raspberry Pi in which the Python programming language will be used for more efficiency. When a stranger enters into that place it not only alerts the owner by sending an email but also it will send the photo of that stranger when it detects any. Raspberry pi is used to control the whole system. The photo of the stranger will be taken by Pi camera. This system can be installed at the main door of your home or office and the user can monitor it with email from anywhere.

Project: Home Auto Machine Using Raspberryy PI

Guide: Prof. Amogh Katti

This project is about controlling home appliances using Android application. Now a days humans are busy in their daily life and few of us are forgetting to turn off electrical appliances. So to save electricity we are going to use Android application like Telegram. This is just like a chat with our friends. We are going to give commands in chat like “on led or on fan”,”off led or off fan”.We can further use other home appliances. So that we can control home appliances from anywhere when we are connected to Ethernet or Internet.

Project: Smart Mirror

Guide: Dr. Soubhagya Sankar Bharpanda

The aim of this project is to show how everyday objects can be turned into smart objects. Every morning our day begins by watching ourselves at least once in mirror leaving our homes. We interact with it psychologically to find out how we look and how our attire is. Smart mirror is one of the applications of raspberry pi. It’s a futuristically looking device that displays data on the mirror surface such as various notifications from sources such as news agencies, weather stations and more things. Such mirrors can be programmed to control various smart home appliances by voice input.

Project: The Automated Shop

Guide: DR. Umakanta Nanda

The whole point of our project is to replace the need of human laborers and use machines instead for transactions of consumables. We thought of places like airports and bus stands and railway stations and thought this would be a good idea to implement. There are vending machines already in the above-mentioned places but ours is a unique one as it is based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) cards, envisioning a POS based transaction system. The model number of our RFID is RC522 and the whole program is based on the Raspberry Pi 3B provided by the university.
