Hands-on FDP on AI, Machine Learning, Statistical Techniques to Bridge Industry- Academia Gap

Department of Mathematics organized an FDP on “Hands-on FDP on AI, Machine Learning, Statistical Techniques to Bridge Industry- Academia Gap” on 6^th October 2018. The resources person of the programme was Mr. Dipanjan Mitra, Data Scientist and Senior Manager, IBM India. More than 27 members attended the same. The FDP began with an explanation on AI and elements of AI and moved onto Typical Industry Use Cases. This was followed by a discussion on the scope and the area of a Data Scientist, distinction between supervised and unsupervised learning, frequently used statistical tools used in industry. The session concluded with a Hands-on session on toy-data and finding solution to the problem.
