Curriculum for Outstanding Professional Success (COPS)

Design Your Degree (DYD)

  • • It is a unique opportunity that students have in shaping their Curriculum and final degree to be awarded. For the first time in the country, a student can have multiple degree options that can be completed within 4 years of their B.Tech. study
  • • Students are given options to select either a Specialization or Minor along with their choice of B.Tech. Major during counselling
  • • A student is allowed to change his/her choice of Specialization or Minor after the completion of first year in the University as per their evolving interests
  • • A student can also choose to do a Double Major instead of Specialization or Minor starting second year

Double Major

  • • Apart from the Major which has certain specified courses, a student can be awarded a Second Major upon completing mandatory courses of another discipline. Student has to complete 168-170 credit worth courses or projects to earn a Double Major degree.
  • • Eg: B.Tech. Mechanical Engg. with Second Major in Computer Science and Engineering

  • • Student has an option to select for second major after completion of one year at the University. A list of Double Major options is given in the tables below

As a data science enthusiast, linear algebra and statistics have been the founding pillars of Artificial Intelligence. When I began my journey with statistics in 2nd year in VIT AP, I started working with various state of the art R tools on different open source datasets like boston house datasets and many more. The course not only involves in-depth theoretical knowledge into various stats tests of population like Z and t but also heavy emphasis on practical and project based learning which is a great starting point into data science. After the Statistics course I was not only well versed with a new coding language (R), but also had a strong mathematical and statistical background in data science. It not only helped me in learning but also came in very handy during my interview process.

School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE) is organizing a 5-Day Workshop on VLSI Device and Circuit Design Tools -Online Mode for Faculty/UG/PG/Research Scholars/ Industry Participants from 22nd June to 26th June 2021. This workshop is being organized by the SENSE in association with Academic Staff College, VIT-AP University, Near Vijayawada(AP).

This workshop will focus on the following topics

  • Introduction to Non-Classical MOS Transistor
  • Live demonstration of device simulation and analysis using Synopsys Sentaurus 3D TCAD tool
  • Physical Insights into the nature of Gate-induced Drain Leakage in Emerging Nano-scale FETs
  • ASIC and full-custom design flow using Synopsys tool
  • BACK-END design flow, generation of GDS-II, and use of Fin-FET library in Cadence
  • Static timing analysis using Tempus and clock tree synthesis concept in Cadence
  • Demonstration of full-custom design using Tanner EDA and Mentor tool
  • Xilinx FPGA design flow
  • Demonstration on system generator flow with Matlab
  • Demonstration on PYNQ platform with Vivado
  • Introduction to HDL Verification and UVM
  • Learn to build UVM testbench from scratch
