The Ph.D. programme at VIT-AP School of Law (VSL) is designed to prepare the graduates for careers as legal scholars and teachers through a doctoral programme aimed at the production of a substantial body of academic research and writing under the close supervision of expert faculty members.
This programme offers emerging scholars an opportunity to contribute to the development of law as an academic field, and it provides an alternate pathway into law teaching alongside existing routes such as fellowships, advanced degrees in cognate fields and legal practice.
Duration and stipend:
Ph.D. degree in law is a full time three years Programme. Selected candidates for Ph.D. programme will get monthly stipend.
Candidates who have obtained a Master’s degree in law from ay recognized university or Autonomous institution securing not less than 55% marks are eligible to apply.
Procedure for admission:
- In order to obtain admission, candidates have to appear for VIT Research Admission Test. Later they have to attend for the interview.
- Applicants who have cleared UGC-NET (including JRF) are exempted from writing the entrance exam. However, they have to defend their research proposal in the interview.
- Ph.D. admission will take place twice a year. January Cycle as well as June Cycle.
