Dr. Nabajyoti Deka has a B. Tech in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from VNIT Nagpur. After working in Sales & Marketing at Calderys India Ltd., Nagpur, he earned a Master’s in Business Management at SMS, University of Hyderabad, from 2010 to 2012. He led the SMS student placements team. After graduating, he taught in IIIT Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh. He coordinated IIIT Nuzvid’s career development and placement programmes.

He has a Ph.D. in Agribusiness economics and management from IIT Kharagpur. Prof. Nabajyoti’s PhD work is interdisciplinary, drawing from economics, business management, and social sciences. Dr. Nabajyoti is UGC NET and JRF-qualified in business management. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher on a multi-country, short-term study about climate change adaptation (https://www.empower-project.org/). Dr. Nabajyoti has presented at international conferences including:

Global Marketing Conference by GAMMA (Seoul, 2020), 89th Annual Meeting of the Southern Economic Association (Fort Lauderdale, USA, 2019), AAS-in-Asia conference (Taiwan, 2015), and various IITs and IIMs in India conferences.

 
Research interest:

Different yet interrelated areas that include agricultural economics, agricultural marketing, agricultural entrepreneurship, small-scale agribusinesses, agricultural value chains, sustainability of agri-food systems, alternative food systems, climate smart agriculture.
