High School, Inavolu on 14th October 2019. The aim of this social outreach programme titled Each One Teach One was to connect the campus to the ground realities of the society and to inculcate a sense of social responsibility among the budding engineers of this prestigious institution. At the same time, the mission was also to benefit the school children by providing them with a set of dramaturgical and creative input which would cultivate and enhance their interpersonal and artistic skills. The students of VIT-AP under the captaincy of their club co-ordinator Dr. Karthika V.K. , worked effectively for a day with a set of activities which were properly planned and executed. They began the session with a warm-up aerobic session, which was followed by a number of other activities which included theatre games, language games, painting, teaching first aid, and origami. The VIT-AP students worked as tutors and mentors with various groups of children. Through this session the children at Z.P. school got a great exposure to many talents which they perceived hitherto as inaccessible. There was a mini exhibition of the art work done by the students in the afternoon. One of the university students Cyril said that he learned to awaken everyone and himself to have a concern for the poor and he marginalized students. “I learned to respect what they have and share our resources with them. I understood that we need to lift others up with us when we try to rise high”, he said.
